Early Learning Full Day Kindergarten

Ontario will provide a full day of learning to four- and five-year-olds as part of the province's plan to build a stronger school system and a well-educated workforce.

The program will be phased-in over time, starting in September 2010. In the first year, nearly 600 schools will offer full-day learning for up to 35,000 students five days a week.

Full-day learning will be expanded each year, and the goal is to have it available in every school by 2015-16. Click here to see which schools in your area will offer early learning in September 2011.
The report, With Our Best Future in Mind: Implementing Early Learning in Ontario, contains 20 recommendations on how to introduce full-day learning to Ontario students, how to improve education for children up to 12-years-old, and how to increase supports for young families.
