The objective of Medical Services at KidsAbility is to:
- Support KidsAbility’s client services staff in relation to the medical community
- Support client services staff with assessments and referrals of children with complex needs. Director of Medical Services meets with families as required. Support the team of medical consultants serving KidsAbility clients and maintain communications with them
- Supervise students/residents during their placement at KidsAbility
- Support the Leadership Team to ensure that medical matters are appropriately considered and provide leadership to staff and board members on all medical matters
- Provide medical input on the development of policies to guide the organization (pandemic plan, infection control)
- Provide monthly “client focus” reports to the Board of Directors as requested
- Provide leadership concerning physician privileges; make recommendations to the Board of Directors
- Review the needs of the KidsAbility sites for medical services and discuss with the Director of Client Service
