OACRS
, the Ontario Association of Children’s Rehabilitation Services, is a non-profit, independent organization that represents 20 children’s treatment centres across Ontario.

KidsAbility is a member of OACRS and a member of the KidsAbility Board of Directors is a representative on the OACRS Board of Directors.

OACRS is a voluntary association, funded almost entirely by membership fees.

Our Purpose
 
“We are the strong, united provincial voice influencing policy, planning, programs, and funding to maximize the potential for all children and youth facing physical, communication or developmental challenges best met through a Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC).”
 
OACRS Key Functions:
  • Supporting CTCs (Children’s Treatment Centres) in the development of the CTC system and its best practices so as to improve outcomes.
  • Influencing Government and other external stakeholders within the wider service system to further enhance the service of the CTC system.
  • Influencing policy to encourage opportunities for current and potential CTC clients to participate to their full potential in local communities.
  • Providing a forum for CTC collaboration and communication.
  • Ensuring that client and family input and perspectives are reflected in the development of policy and position.
  • Coordinating the creation and sharing of data and information in support of these functions.
  • OACRS, the Ontario Association of Children's Rehabilitation Services is located in Toronto.
