Professional Activity Days (Students do not attend school.)
To maintain their standards of excellence, KidsAbility School teachers are continually and actively engaged in professional development throughout their careers. To support the ongoing continuing professional development of all Ontario teachers, the Ontario Ministry of Education designates up to six professional activity (PA) days per school year and defines the criteria and topics, according to provincial priorities for education. Professional activities are devoted to the professional learning of teachers with respect to improving student achievement and student success and to closing the gaps in student achievement.
- Friday, September 30, 2011 - Developing IEPs with respect to closing the gaps in student achievement
- Friday, November 4, 2011 - Assessment and evaluation for and of learning including activities related to curriculum development
- Wednesday, January 18, 2012 - Improving student achievement and student success for and of learning, promoting instructional leadership
- Friday, March 2, 2012 - Admissions, facilitating therapists, parental and community engagement wiht respect to closing the gaps in student achievement in early learning
- Friday, June 8, 2012 - Assessment using data analysis to inform instruction including activities related to curriculum development, implementation and review
- Friday, June 29, 2012 - Facilitating transitions for students entering and leaving KidsAbility
