Our social skills groups are led by a certified Teacher, and supported by group leaders who are trained in social skills development. Our social skills staff have experience working with children with Aspergers, Autism, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Mood Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and children who do not have a diagnosis but can benefit from social skills groups.
The curriculum for our social skills groups is uniquely developed and focuses on social and cognitive developmental milestones. Children in our groups have individualized goals that are facilitated in a group environment.
Children who benefit most from social skills groups are those who demonstrate the ability to sit and attend in a group setting, who do not engage in disruptive behaviours, and who respond well to prompting and reinforcement of appropriate social interaction skills. No diagnosis is required to participate in a Firefly Social Skills program!
