Research Requests

All research conducted with KidsAbility is subject to the approval and review by KidsAbility Research and Ethics Committee.

 
Procedures
  • The Director of Client Services coordinates all research projects within KidsAbility
  • The Research and Ethics Committee, comprised of the Director of Client Services, Director of Medical Services and the Coordinator of Health Records, evaluate all research proposals. This committee will recommend that KidsAbility accept or reject projects

Projects may be approved only after the following steps have been completed:

  1. The researcher submits all necessary documents to the Director of Client Services.
  2. The Director of Client Services circulates and then receives advice, feedback and recommendations from Profession Leads and other staff as needed.
  3. The proposal is reviewed by the Client Services Team to consider workload and service delivery implications, as well as the Business office for financial review (as appropriate).
  4. When the review is complete, a recommendation is forwarded to the Leadership Team for final approval.
  5. The Director of Client Services provides written confirmation to the researchers and outlines the respective commitments of the research organization and KidsAbility.
