On June 18, KidsAbility Foundation received $185,000 as this year’s beneficiary of the Co-operators Charity Golf Tournament at the beautiful Glen Cairn Golf Club. More than a hundred partners, vendors and Co-operators employees enjoyed the fun of competing in a day of golf at the beautiful Glencairn Golf Club while raising funds and awareness of our mission to empower children and youth to realize their full potential.
Co‑operators is a leading Canadian financial services co-operative, offering multi-line insurance and investment products, services, and personalized advice to help Canadians build their financial strength and security. The organization is well known for its community involvement and its commitment to sustainability.
KidsAbility alum Jordan Tucker shared how the services she received as a child have shaped her achievements:
“I can’t imagine where I’d be without KidsAbility. I benefited from physio, recreational, and occupational therapy as a child to support my rehabilitation after a stroke when I was two. I was also supported with a communication device and access to a wheelchair. Fast forward to my life now! I am proud to share I won a bronze medal in swimming for Canada competing at the ParaPan Am Games in Chile. I can tell you that my purpose, direction and accomplishment is a direct result of my therapeutic recreation therapist at KidsAbility who encouraged me to try competitive swimming in my teens.”

“The incredible services that KidsAbility provides to children and youth in our community is outstanding and we were thrilled to be able to support them through our tournament this year,” said Kristina Gilley, Chair of Co-operators Charity Golf Tournament volunteer committee. “Our volunteer committee works tirelessly year after year to support local organizations where we can, and this year was no exception.”
Community support strengthens our impact to support children, youth and families with the programs and services they need, right in their own community, minutes from where they live, work and play.
“We are so appreciative to be this year’s beneficiary of the Co-operators Charity Golf Tournament,” shared Lisa Talbot, Executive Director of KidsAbility Foundation. “The generous support received from Co-operators will help fund both our Entry to School Program which is a six-month group-based classroom program for young children with autism entering school for the first time, as well as our Launch Groups which is a new initiative aimed to enhance the service delivery experience for families. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the sponsors and dedication of this volunteer committee.”
