What is Kaleidoscope Kids?
Kaleidoscope Kids is a playgroup where caregivers and their children can come together in an informal way. The idea behind the program is to build connections for these families in a comfortable environment. Families are not required to register and advance.
In partnership with EarlyON and Waterloo Region Family Network (WRFN) Kaleidoscope Kids runs weekly at the EarlyON Centre on Roger Street in Waterloo.
This provides several benefits for the families involved, included:
- Dedicated staffing for this initiative which means that families can look forward to seeing the same staff members each week
- A separate room outside of the main area that is utilized for programming, so that families have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with other EarlyON drop-in programs that will be happening simultaneously. This often becomes a launching point for families to access some of the great programs EarlyON offers
- Targeted toys and activities that provide a variety of sensory experiences for participants
- Opportunity for families and caregivers to share as much or as little as they are comfortable with
