Sue Hallman, a lifelong advocate for children and youth with disabilities, was honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal in a special ceremony at TheMuseum on December 17, 2024 to recognize her extraordinary contributions to the KidsAbility community.
The medals, presented by Senator Marty Deacon, Waterloo Region, were awarded to 16 local individuals who exemplify long-standing volunteerism, professionalism, or significant contributions that bring credit to Canada.Â

Nominated by her peers and selected by a review committee, Sue has profoundly impacted countless children and youth with disabilities through her exceptional volunteerism at KidsAbility.
For nearly three decades, Sue has demonstrated extraordinary dedication in the KidsAbility School classroom, nurturing and empowering every child she supported.
Beyond bringing the Strong Start literacy program to the KidsAbility School curriculum, her inspirational leadership led to key roles within the organization, including Board Chair of KidsAbility Foundation.
Sue was instrumental in driving the success of the 2023 KidsAbility Superhero Challenge, which engaged the community and raised over $130,000 for life-changing programs.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal, presented following His Majesty’s Coronation, reflects his lifelong dedication to volunteerism, youth empowerment, and community building.
