  • Ask Dr. Universe - Kids can send Dr. Universe any question they may have about history, geography, plants, animals, technology, engineering, math, culture, and more. 
  • Big History Project - Online history classes for all ages preteen through adults.
  • Banzai Online Financial Literacy - Banzai exposes students to real-world financial dilemmas to teach them the importance of smart money management. 
  • Brain Pop Jr. - Fun and interactive online activities for children in Kindergarten to Grade 3 in reading and writing, arts and technology, social studies, science and math. Currently offers free access due to COVID-19.
  • Computer Skills - Build essential skills with our comprehensive curriculum including keyboarding, digital literacy, and coding. 
  • Cool Kid Facts - Cool Kid Facts gives your child access to educational videos, pictures, quizzes, downloadable worksheets, and infographics. They can use these to learn about geography, history, science, animals, and even the human body. 
  • Crypto Club - Immerse yourself in cryptography-crack ciphers, discover secrets and improve your math skills. 
  • Dog on a Log Books - Printable board games, activities and more for phonics and reading all using evidence-based methods. Can be customized to any student's needs including creating flashcards for other subjects. 
  • Foreign Language Learning:
    • Duolingo - Learn a foreign language free resource.
    • Conjuguemos - Vocabulary, grammar, listening activities and games in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Korean, and Latin. 
  • Free Children Stories - Free stories online ages 3-12. 
  • Fun Fonix - This site caters to children from Kindergarten to Grade 12 with various language worksheets, activities and games.
  • Good and Beautiful - Course sets (Levels 1–5) that combine and thoroughly cover phonics, reading, writing, spelling, literature, grammar, punctuation, art, and geography—all in one easy-to-use, beautiful course. 
  • Magic Tree House - Interactive games based on the book series. 
  • Next-Gen Personal Finance - Scads of free resources, games, learning resources, and lesson plans for teaching personal finance.
  • NGAkids - NGAkids interactives offer an entertaining and informative introduction to art and art history. 
  • Paragraph Punch - Teaches students how to write a paragraph through an interactive online tutorial.
  • Play and Learn - The activities offered on this site were developed by experts in the field of child development from McMaster University and the University of Toronto. Includes free printable educational worksheets and activities for children ages 1.5-6 years old.
  • Programming with Scratch - With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community.
  • Reading Eggs - Reading Eggs makes learning to read interesting and engaging for kids, with great online reading games and activities. 
  • Reading Rockets - Reading rockets resources to help struggling readers. 
  • ReadWorks - ReadWorks is a free online resource of reading passages and lesson plans for students of all levels K-12. 
  • Scholastic - The site offers day-by-day projects to keep kids reading, thinking, and growing. For ages Pre-K to Grade 6. Each day there are four learning activities paired with an exciting story or video for your child. There are classic titles like the Magic School Bus that include printables, experiments and more!
  • Seussville - This website provides parents with themed activities surrounding favourite Dr. Seuss classics. Enjoy a variety of crafts, playful learning activities, printables and even recipes for delicious snacks that are inspired by Dr. Seuss books and characters.
  • Storyline Online - This website streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books along-side creatively produced illustrations.
  • Story Starter - This site will generate a random story starter for your child to complete. Have fun, get creative and get writing!
  • Super Simple - Resource section includes free flashcards, coloring pages, worksheets, and other resources for children, teachers, and parents. 
  • Turtle Diary - Turtle Diary is packed with loads of educational games and quizzes for ages Pre-K to Grade 5.
  • Twinkl - Twinkl is an online educational publishing house, producing teaching and educational materials.
  • Vroom - Free resources for parents to support children’s learning from birth to 5 years old through everyday brain-building activities. Sign up to receive tips personalized to your child’s developmental stage to inspire more fun in everyday learning interactions.
  • Wonderopolis - Short videos and readings that answer various burning questions for students. There are vocabulary challenges and comprehension questions. 
  • Writing Practice - Support your students with hundreds of free writing and grammar exercises for grades 5-12. https://www.noredink.com/. For reading comprehension grade 3 to 12.
  • Youngzine - An excellent source for children’s new articles. A great way to educate your children on the changes that have occurred from the COVID-19 virus. In addition, there are articles related to world news, science technology, history, the arts, and more!

  • BioDigital - A human visualization platform that allows students to explore the human body in really cool ways. 
  • Cells Alive - Explore, study, play-all about cells, microbes and the immune system. 
  • Chemi Cool - Learn all about the periodic table.
  • Elemental Science - Teach science at home with our lapbooks, living books, full science curricula, and teacher resources.
  • GeoGuesser - Tests kids’ geography skills. Using images from Google’s Street View, it plops players down in the middle of the street and asks them to figure out where they are. 
  • NASA Kids Club - NASA Kids Club is filled with endless space, science, and technology content. 
  • National Geographic Kids - NatGeo Kids has a great resource to help talk about the COVID-19 virus with your kids and lists great ways to protect yourself and prevent the spread. NatGeo Kids also has fun games, reading, and other activities to explore.
  • National Geographic Young Explorer - National Geographic Young Explorers is a magazine designed specifically for kindergarten and first grade students. Children can listen to the magazine being read to them as they follow along with the highlighted text. 
  • Science Kids - Learn more about the amazing world of science by enjoying fun experiments, cool facts, online games, lesson plans, quizzes and videos of science fair projects.
  • Smithsonian Learning Lab - This educational website hosted by the Smithsonian Museum takes a deep dive into ocean life.
  • Steve Spangler Science - Tons of science experiments that you can do at home.
  • SwitchZoo - Play games and learn all about animals.
  • The Homeschool Scientist - Engineering challenges with things you have at home.
  • The Old Farmer’s Almanac for Kids - A mix of science and history activities to complete. Check out the weather, moon phases, planet alignment etc. Fun questions and facts of the day for your child to reflect on.
  • The Science Spot - Science projects that can be completed with or without Internet access.
  • USGS Earthquakes for Kids - Learn all about earthquakes.
  • Weather Wiz Kids - From rainbows to tornadoes and winter storms to tsunamis, meteorologist Crystal Wicker breaks down the fascinating world of weather.

  • ABC Mouse - Early Learning Academy - ABC Mouse offers a full online curriculum for children ages 2-8 years old with individual early learning activities in reading, math, science and art. This is a paid service but the site offers a 30-day free trial.
  • Bamboo Learning - Voice based learning... learn through Alexa
  • Dream Box - This program aligns with the Ontario curriculum to continue teaching young children foundational math skills. Early learners develop a deeper understanding of math concepts by implementing skills in fun and interactive tools and activities. This is a paid service but the site offers a 90-day free trial.
  • Easy Peasy-All-In-One Homeschool - A complete free online Christian homeschool curriculum.
  • IXL - IXL offers a full online curriculum for children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 with individual early learning activities in math and language. 
  • Khan Academy Kids - Download the free app to explore interactive and engaging educational programs for children 2-7 years old. These individualized programs focus on teaching early literacy, language, math, problem-solving and social-emotional development skills. A cast of characters guide children through open-ended lessons and activities to inspire learning. 
  • MobyMax - Find and fix missing skills, to help your learner learn effectively. 
  • Overcoming Obstacles: Life Skills Curriculum - With hundreds of easy to teach activity-based lessons covering more than 30 critical social and emotional skills, students learn how to communicate effectively.
