Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the demands of caregiving, or feel isolated and unsure where to turn for support? It can be challenging to prioritize your own needs while caring for a loved one with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
This introductory workshop, led in collaboration with our social work team, will discuss the principles of compassionate self-care and provide practical, realistic strategies to support your well-being as a caregiver and prevent burnout. Â
We will also explore a range of community resources available to caregivers, including support groups, respite care services, and educational opportunities, along with resources you can access for your child. By understanding how to access and utilize these resources, you can create a strong support network and foster a sense of community. Â
Open to those registered with the Ontario Autism Program with an OAP#.
