In this second segment, we take you inside KidsAbility right from the moment when a family connects with us. You’ll learn about our Resource Centre that is available to anyone in our community as well, learn about how Augmentative Communication Services (ACS) helps children and youth to unlock communication through technology. Michael and Melissa demonstrate the impact that ACS has had on Michael’s life and their family’s.

Brighter Futures Happen Here: Our Donors & Youth (Segment 4 of 6)
KidsAbility has been a proud member of the Guelph community for the past two decades. Over the years, thousands of children and youth with special needs and their families have benefited from therapy and support services at KidsAbility without having to leave their own community.
In this fourth segment, you’ll learn about the impact of donations and how together we are working with youth to support the life journey through social programs, music, Therapeutic Recreation and a host of other services.
Through the generous support of our community partners, funders and generous donors, together, we are changing lives and creating opportunities where every child can realize their full potential.

Brighter Futures Happen Here: Speech & Autism Services (Segment 5 of 6)
When a child has a communication challenge, it can have a negative impact their self-esteem, behaviour and ability to be successful in school. This fifth segment is hosted at KidsAbility’s Kitchener site. You’ll learn about our Speech-Language Therapists who help children with a wide range of communication challenges. You’ll meet Alexander and his father who talk about the impact that speech therapy has had for him.
As well, we’ll take you inside our Autism Services where you will learn how our team is working with each child on behaviour, communication, relationship, language and social situation goals. Working with families to first identify what the challenge is, through one-on-one, group or coaching support, each child and family is given strategies and support to help them overcome the challenge.

Brighter Futures Happen Here: OT & KidsAbility School (Segment 6 of 6)
For over 45 years, KidsAbility has been an important part of the Cambridge community! In this sixth segment, you’ll meet Leigha and learn about how Occupational Therapy has impacted her life.
At KidsAbility’s Cambridge site hosts KidsAbility School that provides half-day special education programs for junior kindergarten children with special needs. The one-year programs focus on early identification, early intervention and transition into community schools. Teachers, parents, educational assistants and therapists work as teams to combine education and therapy in order to meet the unique needs of each child. We’ll also take you inside KidsAbility School’s Cambridge classrooms to see how our teams are working together to help prepare each child for success!
