Smile Cookies are back! From September 19-25, all proceeds from the iconic chocolate chunk cookie topped with blue eyes and pink smiles purchased at local stores in Kitchener and Waterloo will support KidsAbility and Nutrition for Learning.
“Every Smile Cookie is as unique as the people, charities and communities they help,” says Lisa Talbot, Executive Director of KidsAbility Foundation. “KidsAbility meets the communication, social, physical and developmental needs of over 14,000 children and youth yearly. Smile Cookie proceeds help make it possible for children and youth to thrive from therapy programs and support services. As a grateful charity partner since 2009, KidsAbility Foundation has received nearly $1 million thanks to the generosity of local restaurant owners and team members who rally together, year over year, to bring smiles to our community.”
“Nutrition for Learning is so grateful for our long-standing partnership with Tim Hortons,” says Erin Moraghan, Director of Philanthropy. “The Smile Cookie campaign is such a happy and simple way for our communities to support both organizations! This campaign goes a long way to help Nutrition for Learning achieve our mission to support the overall wellbeing of students and their ability to learn by ensuring that every student can attend school well nourished. Last school year, we provided over 2 million meals, with over 80,000 students having access to our nutrition programs. We simply couldn’t do this without the support of all the people who enjoy a Smile Cookie.”
Guests can visit local Kitchener and Waterloo Tim Hortons restaurants or place an order through the Tim Hortons mobile app for delivery to get their Smile Cookies. Everyone is encouraged to share how they are supporting the annual campaign by using the hashtag #SmileCookie on social media.
“At Tims, we’re incredibly proud of our annual Smile Cookie initiative that directly impacts each and every community in which we operate”, says Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons. “With the support of guests, restaurant owners, team members and volunteers across the country, we look forward to directly supporting hundreds of organizations in communities across the country.”
