Applied Behaviour Analysis, or ABA, is an evidence-based and scientific approach to understanding learning and behaviour.

The approach is used to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviour by adjusting the environment and teaching methods match the child’s individual needs.

Services may be provided in a 1:1 or group setting depending on goals and needs. Data is collected to establish a baseline and monitor skill development, informing adjustments to programing where needed.

Research has shown that ABA therapy provides varying benefits to children and adults of all ages, no matter how early they begin treatment. Some of these benefits include:

  • Communication and language
  • Reducing challenging behaviours
  • Emotional development
  • Self-advocacy and independence
  • Coping skills
  • Social skills

Applied Behaviour Analysis services are for anyone who may be looking to build skills and decrease challenging behaviours.
