Exciting day at KidsAbility!
Our CEO, Jennifer Foster, proudly welcomed PA to the Minister of Health Dawn Gallagher Murphy and PA to the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services Nolan Quinn, including local MPPs Mike Harris and Jess Dixon, to express gratitude for one of the largest-ever investments in expanding pediatric care.
This announcement, originally made in July 2023, is a turning point. Ontario’s priorities investing to expand children’s health care across the province and close to home are very much aligned with KidsAbility’s focus and mission to meet the increasing demand for pediatric rehabilitation supports and services.
“Children’s health is integrally linked to development, learning, mental health and well-being”, shared Jennifer Foster, CEO, KidsAbility. “What happens in a child’s life has implications across the lifespan. We thank the Government of Ontario for this historic investment that will make a significant difference in the health and well-being of kids with disabilities and developmental differences here in Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington.”
We thank Empowered Kids Ontario and the Children’s Health Coalition for their leadership and advocacy. And special thanks to our community partners, CEO Grand River Hospital Ron Gagnon and Guelph Community Health Centre CEO Melissa Kwiatkowski for joining us to share in this historic news.
Our KidsAbility teams are already hard at work, exploring innovative service models and strengthening partnerships to better serve our community!
