We’re delighted to share the exciting news of Dr. Michelle Phoenix’s appointment as Adjunct Scientist at KidsAbility’s Rocket Discovery Centre. Michelle brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team, having previously served as a Speech Language Pathologist here at KidsAbility before pursuing her career in academia.

Currently an Associate Professor at McMaster’s School of Rehabilitation Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology, as well as a Scientist at CanChild Centre for Studies in Childhood Disability, Michelle’s impressive history in research perfectly aligns with KidsAbility’s mission and values. Her collaboration with KidsAbility dates back to 2015, with two ongoing projects currently under her supervision. Michelle’s research interests include models of service delivery, engagement in therapy services, telerehabilitation, and partnership in research.
Michelle shared her favorite thing about partnering with KidsAbility:

“The research ideas carried forward are driven by the families, clinicians and organizational leadership. Building capacity for clinically meaningful research among clients and families, clinicians, and students continues to be a dream come true. Together we can do research that directly impacts clinical practice, resulting in more accessible services that fit the needs of the KidsAbility Community.”

Please join us in extending a warm welcome back to KidsAbility for Dr. Phoenix. We’re thrilled to have her expertise and passion contributing to our continued success and impact on the lives of children and families in our community.
