About Us

Our mission at KidsAbility is to empower every child to realize their full potential

At KidsAbility, we support over 17,000 children and youth to reach their communication, social, physical and behavioural goals each year.

We support children and youth from birth to age 21 to navigate the entire journey from childhood to adulthood, irrespective of diagnosis. We believe providing early and exceptional family-centred services for the wellbeing of children and youth is the most powerful way to build brighter futures.

What we do

• Assess, diagnose, and provide clinical treatment, specialized programs and therapies, and specialized equipment and resources for children and youth with communication, physical or developmental needs;
• Provide access to clinical expertise, consultation and support for families;
• Build capacity in the community through information, knowledge exchange and consultation with professionals and other organizations;
• Participate in research activities in children’s rehabilitation.

KidsAbility is funded through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, valued community partners, purchase-service options and the generous support of our community.

Helping more children thrive with the specialized services they need

KidsAbility Foundation exists to raise funds and broaden awareness for support of KidsAbility’s vital work with children and youth in our community.

We explore and engage with community partnerships to foster funding opportunities, establish research innovation funding, and support capacity building.  

KidsAbility was founded by Rotary in 1957 to deliver pediatric services to children in need. Six decades later, our work is strengthened by the generosity of individuals, local business and corporations, community clubs, and organizations within our region, each giving to ensure children and families have a local place to turn to for support so they can benefit from the specialized programs and services they need to thrive.
